About Smart Market

Smart Market is a Melbourne automated retail operator, trading as Smart Market Group Pty Ltd (ABN 15 695 017 504). We install and fully manage smart fridge vending across workplaces, recreation centres, healthcare and residential sites at no cost to the host.

What we do

We install glass-front refrigerated smart fridges across Melbourne and stock them with real meals, healthier options, drinks and snacks. The host site pays nothing. We supply the machine, install it, stock it, clean it, service it and monitor it remotely, and we earn from what people buy.

Where we operate

Smart Market machines run across a network of Melbourne sites: corporate offices and head offices, warehouses, depots and distribution centres, manufacturing and industrial sites, recreation and leisure facilities, and residential and mixed-use buildings.

We can install at a single site or roll out across a portfolio, with consistent ranges, consistent pricing and a single point of contact. If you operate several locations, we scope it that way from the start.

Why we built it this way

Australian vending has been the same for a long time: a coil machine with a spiral, a coin slot and forty lines of chocolate and soft drink. It jams. It keeps change it should not. It breaks down and nobody knows until someone complains. And because it cannot refrigerate, it cannot feed anyone properly.

Smart fridge technology changes what is physically possible. Product comes off a shelf instead of falling off a spiral, so nothing gets stuck. It is fully cashless, so there is nothing to lose. There is very little to go wrong mechanically. And because the whole cabinet is refrigerated, it can hold ready meals, yoghurt and fresh product.

That is the difference, and it is why we lead with food rather than snacks.

How we work

• Customer first. Machine health and stock levels are monitored remotely, so faults and stock-outs are picked up rather than reported. When you do need us, you get a direct answer rather than a ticket number.
• Built for the site. Ranges are built with each site and reviewed after around sixty days against what people actually bought.
• No lock-in. If it is not working for your site, we remove it.
• Priced to a benchmark. Shelf prices are benchmarked against convenience store pricing.
• Able to scale. We run a network of machines across Melbourne and can roll out across multiple sites.
