Nexifi: a custom-branded machine in a Melbourne CBD office

Nexifi, based in a Melbourne CBD commercial building, installed a Smart Market smart fridge custom-branded to match their office design at no extra cost. It serves both staff and visiting clients.

The site

Nexifi occupies an office on level 4 of a commercial building in the Melbourne CBD. It is a different problem to an industrial site. Food is not far away, it is just down four floors, out through the lobby, into a queue and back again. Thirty to forty minutes gone for a sandwich, and the lifts do not get faster at midday.

CBD offices also have a second consideration that warehouses do not. The kitchen is client-facing. Anything sitting in it is part of how the business presents itself.

The branding question

Nexifi wanted the machine to look like part of the office rather than a vending machine in the corner.

The machine has an illuminated lightbox header, and it does not have to say Smart Market. We custom-branded it to Nexifi's own design, in their colours, at no extra cost. The same option is open to any Smart Market site.

What went in

A range weighted for an office rather than a warehouse: ready meals, yoghurt, protein and better snacks alongside soft drinks, iced coffee and the classics. Client-facing sites tend to run a slightly more premium mix, which the range accommodates.

The result

“Absolutely thrilled with the service and support provided by Jake and the team. We installed a company-branded smart market fridge in our corporate office for both staff and clients to enjoy, and it has been incredibly well received. It has become a genuinely useful addition to our workplace and has also been great for staff morale. What impressed us most was the team's willingness to develop a creative, tailored solution that suited our specific needs and branding.”

Why this matters for hybrid teams

The return-to-office question is mostly won on small daily frictions rather than policy. A stocked machine on the floor removes one, and it is visible to candidates and clients.

Some businesses go further and sponsor the machine, covering part or all of the cost so their team pays less or nothing. That is entirely optional and it is worth asking about.
